‘Lifestyle’ what is it all about?
Exposure to the needs and fears of your everyday life are responsible that shape your individual lifestyle. Your lifestyle speaks what you are; who you are; and why you are the way you are. Do you know that exposure to needs and fears of the everyday life shape your thoughts? Consequently, those thoughts in turn prompt your actions every moment of your life? Don’t agree that “Thoughts makes the man”. Similarly, “You are what you think”. Moreover, “You are what you stand for on this planet”. Therefore eventually, one or the other day, you need to find answers to questions like: “What types of thoughts do I cultivate and grow unto myself and the world around?” And “What is the way I am habituated to think?” “For what I stand for and live on this planet? Am I as what as I present myself as to the world around?”
Yes, it is but natural to say that needs of life are quite endless in itself. All those needs of your life may be put under 5 main heads as follows: 1) Biological needs, 2) Emotional needs, 3) Psychological needs, 4) Intellectual needs, and 5) Spiritual needs.
1) Biological needs: a) Hunger / food, b) Thrust / water, c) Breathing / oxygen, d) Sex / procreation, e) Sleep / relaxation, f) Health / exercising, g) Exposure to natural life and the Nature,
2) Emotional needs: a) Moral support, b) Love, c) Social recognition, d) To sense the world around through 5 sensory organs to experience being alive, e) Communication and self-expression, f) Exposure to the arts and cultures of the world over,
3) Psychological needs: a) Sense of existence, b) Sense of security, c) Sense of well being, d) Sense of being useful to the world around, e) Exposure to world
4) Intellectual needs: a) To learn and master the art and science of thinking clearly to handle everyday challenges successfully or the intellectual capabilities, b) Exposure to knowledge and wisdom of the world and Nature around,
5) Spiritual needs: a) To discover, know and realize what life is all about, b) To find purpose of living one’s life, c) To actualize one’s life, d) To find one’s identity in the vast universe, e) Exposure to self-knowledge; by discovering the appropriate way to the self-knowledge, and finally f) The ultimate potential of the human birth: “The Enlightenment”.
When seen from the point of any average person, doesn’t that appear as if it is quite impossible to fulfill all those essential needs of life?
Then one is automatically enveloped by the self projected eight fold fear of the life. 1) Fear of failure, 2) Fear of dishonor, 3) Fear of separation from the near, dear and the loved ones, 4) Fear of poverty, 5) Fear of the sickness, 6) Fear of being misunderstood by the world around, 7) Fear of physical pain and death… 8) Fear of solitude, madness, abyss and darkness.
The deficiencies of these ‘basic needs’ and ‘eightfold fear’ are the miraculous secrets that creates the wonderful and equally complex life on earth; where even any good person may end up being a bad person or any bad person may end up being a good person. Because, in the process of finding fulfillment and satisfaction in one’s life, one forgets his/her normal humanly qualities and transformed into a complex persona who may be above normal or below normal. Similarly, some times one may even end up in a bottomless loony bin; as a confused, disoriented and retarded person. Therefore it is quite important to look inwardly into the internal space within yourself as it is important to look outwardly into the external world endlessly for the meaningful existence on this planet earth.
Words of ancient wisdom say “Be content with whatever life has already offered to you rather enjoy life by living moment to moment”. Whereas the world around you keeps drilling unto you that “Not to be content with what you already have, but keep pushing for more and more endlessly”.
Yes, rather is it not like a strange rat-race where no-one knows where they are running? Why they are running? Without ever analyzing and understanding what is happening? Why it is happening the way it is happening in the world around?
Here is a consolidated short message for the lovers of the eternal spiritual light of self-knowledge and the nature around. “You are the ‘EARTH’ that you walk”; “You are the ‘WATER’ that you drink”; “You are the ‘AIR’ that you breathe”; “You are the ‘FIRE’ that burns any matter into the ash”; “You are the creative light of ‘SKY’ or ‘UNIVERSE’ that you eventually are living in as the light of the born free consciousness”; “You are the light of Omnipresence that stretches itself through the past, through the present and through the eternal future”.
